Dave Imbus of Imbus Drywall began doing drywall part time at the age of 16 and full time after graduating from Anderson High School in 1973. He worked for various companies in the residential and commercial field. In 1985, one week after receiving his first daughter by adoption, he ventured into business for himself, soliciting his wife, Debbie, to be co-owner to handle the administrative portion. Together, they developed Imbus Drywall Incorporated in 1987.
Imbus Drywall grew from a staff of 2 to a staff of about 25. In 2000, drywall contractor Dave Imbus expanded the business to include residential work with homeowners, enjoying the personal contact with his customers. Debbie continued as the secretary and treasurer for the company even through each new addition to their family—Tiffany in 1985, Gabrielle in 1989, Michael in 1991, and Martell in 1993. After 4 beautiful children by adoption, the 20-year battle with infertility ended when Joseph was born in 1996. All the children have been a supporting part of Imbus Drywall in some form or another.
