Dave Imbus began doing drywall part time at the age of sixteen and full time after graduating from Anderson High School
in 1973. He worked for various companies in the residential and commercial field in 1985, one week after receiving his first daughter by adoption, he ventured into business for himself soliciting his wife, Debbie, to be co-owner to handle the administrative portion. Together they developed Imbus Drywall Incorporated in 1987.

Imbus Drywall grew from a staff  of two to a staff of about twenty-five. Imbus Drywall was doing mostly commercial work, such as the drywall finishing in the Kenwood Towne Center, Fifth Third Stadium in Dayton, Covington Toyota Plant, Cincinnati Gas and Electric, Wright Patterson Airforce Base, Hilton Hotel, Marriott Hotel, numerous banks and retail stores throughout the area as well as many other commercial projects. In the year 2000, Dave Imbus expanded the business to include residential work with homeowners enjoying the personal contact with his customers. Debbie continued as the secretary and treasurer for the company even through each new addition to their family, Tiffany in 1985, Gabrielle in 1989, Michael in 1991, and Shawn in 1993. After four beautiful children by adoption, the 20 year battle with infertility ended when Joseph was born in 1996. All the children have been a supporting part of Imbus Drywall in some form or another.
